Where's the privacy statement?

This program sounds like any number of "preferred shopper" programs - like those at Kroger or other grocery stores. What is conspicuously absent, however, is the privacy information. Or any up-front information. Or any information (at least that I could find) online, except for a lot of news organizations parroting a press release. I've e-mailed Greg Lashutka (the program director) and hope to find out more. This could be a great program - or a shady privacy-violating deal. Stay tuned!

Outrage!

This may not seem like a big deal... until you realize that they're letting a @#$% paycheck advance place move in to the same complex. Those folks are the lowest of the low, preying on those whose luck has shoved them into a lose-lose situation. It is a direct attack on Dot's, since Dot's also provides paycheck cashing (but not advances and the other predatory crap).

Shoebox Art - Through 4 May 2008

Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries

For the 9th International Shoebox Sculpture Exhibition, sculptors from
around the world are invited to produce sculpture in any mode or media
that they wish. The catch being, the final sculpture must fit inside an
ordinary shoebox. The small size requirement forces artists to approach
the challenges of shape and scale in new ways. The works on display
range from the representative to the abstract, some are whimsical,
others are closely tied to cultural heritage, but each tells a story
about the unique artistic process of the individual sculptor.
