"Lights On" Haunted house - 20 October ONLY

Annual "Lights On Matinee"
Haunted Castle of Carnage
1213 Harshman Road; Dayton

Date: October 20, 2007
Time: 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $2 per person to get in, BUT if you bring non-perishable food item, you will receive $1 off your admission!
This is an UNSCARY event and is an opportunity for children and adults of all ages to come out and see the masks, props, and go through the Haunted House to see behind the scenes. There will be local fire and police departments on hand to talk to the kids about safety awareness. Pictures with Halloween characters will be offered for a small donation. There will be food and games for everyone!
All proceeds and food items donated that day go to fund the Jaycees Thanksgiving Food Baskets for local families in the community.

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Many volunteers are needed to crochet/knit hats, mittens, scarves, socks, afghans, or other warm items that will be donated to local shelters/missions. This FREE event is open to the general public; individuals, organizations, groups, guilds, Scout troops, etc. This is a family-friendly event suitable for all ages and all skill levels. Hall is wheelchair accessible.

A Call to Men - October 10-13

The Artemis Center presents:
"A Call To Men " - Event Series
Date: October 10-13, 2007

A Call To Men challenges men to reconsider their long held beliefs
about women in an effort to create a more just society. These programs
will encourage well meaning men to play a primary role in the solution
to end violence against women. Every man who has at least one women he
cares for deeply should attend. Women and teens are also encouraged to
attend. Presentations contain adult content.

    Pre registration is required by October 5th - $10 fee - Lunch is
    provided. Teacher contact hours, social work and counseling CEUs are
    available. Nursing CEUs are pending.

Sister Dorothy Stang spent almost 40 years as a missionary
in Brazil. She dedicated her life to bringing justice to the
poor and defending the Amazon rainforest from land grabbers.
